Chai Tea - Latte-style!

Teri Gentes’ Chai Tea – Latte Style! This recipe makes approx 4 servings…

2 Cups freshly made strong black or red tea
1 one inch piece of fresh ginger root (sliced thinly or pounded)
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cardamom
ÂĽ tsp black freshly ground pepper
ÂĽ tsp ground cloves
ÂĽ tsp ground nutmeg (whole cloves & cinnamon sticks if you prefer)
1-2 tbsp honey (optional)
2 cups vanilla or regular soymilk
1 tsp vanilla extract (the real thing)

Place the tea and all the spices in a pot or stainless steel Frother over medium low heat and let infuse for 10-15 minutes

Remove the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks, add honey, soymilk and vanilla….heat for an additional five minutes or until very hot. Froth the mixture and transfer to blender and blend until frothy…pour into mugs and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cardamom

I have actually made a much simpler version of the tea at home for the last two weeks…I have used Almond Breeze as my milk, I haven’t used all the exact ingredients and I didn’t blend or froth and it still tasted fantastic…The key is the ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom…
