What a Blast!

What a blast!  Pun intended…  Today I had a chance to meet the amazing people at Allen Vanguard.  Their head office happens to be here in Ottawa, but they develop field and support solutions for protection and counter- measures for military and security forces around the globe.  We got to meet one of their ROV Robots or Remotely Operated Vehicles (which brought me a coffee), I also had a chance to try on a 60 pound bomb suit, fire decontamination foam and blast bomb mitigation foam into a tent!  So cool!  They really are saving lives around the world and protecting from terrorist threats in many ways,with their new technologies and it's amazing that their home base is right here in our hometown!

Back here at 87 George st. Kurt and Karen got the secret to six pack abs from the folks at Free Form Fitness… and then armed with their fitness knowledge took a trip over to Lois and Frimas for ice cream! Lois and Frimas is a cute little ice cream place right beside us here in the market and they have all kinds of fun ice cream flavours and even grilled deli sandwiches!  Good food to go!

Well Kurt is heading off on holidays and anyone on any golf course, anywhere, in the next few days will likely see him!

Jeff Hopper will join us tomorrow for a trip to Carol Gilchrist's garden which is just beautiful and they'll show us how to bring the inside -- out! 

It's also Christmas in July in Barrhaven!  Tomorrow morning at the Fallowfield transit station you can score a free breakfast courtesy of some city councillors! Go enjoy!
