The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas never fails to introduce us to new must-have gizmos and gadgets!  This morning we featured a story on a computer keyboard and mouse you can put in the dishwasher!  There's also a remote control you can wash too to get rid of that nasty bacteria.  My husband and I were just talking the other day about how things are going to be so advanced 20 years from now.  I don't want to think about how old I'll be - but I'm hoping to slightly keep up with the times.  Besides who can afford it these days????  Which brings me to this: are you tired of hearing the phrase tough economic times?  I'm starting to feel I am - particularly when I say it!  So, I'm on a personal quest to stop saying that phrase and use other words.

I read an interesting article in the Citizen today on snowshoeing and how it is the fastest growing winter activity in our region.  We knew we were on to something when my husband and I started doing it last year!  The article pointed out snowshoe etiquette in Gatineau Park, and how staying off the groomed trails is done out of courtesy for cross country skiing.  As someone who enjoys both activities I couldn't agree more.  There is nothing more frustrating than having a nice trail messed up by snowshoes, even walking on a trail without snowshoes ruins it.  I was also surprised to hear that cut trails are preferred for snowshoeing.  I'm the exact opposite!  I enjoy cutting through fresh snow for a great cardio workout - not to mention the leg and butt workout too!  We've been out numerous times this year, and on a few occasions my husband and I felt like we were walking on air when we got back to the road and out of the snow.

See you in the morning!
