Support Our Troops
Posted: Friday, November 7th, 2008
What a great Friday we had this morning with military spouses from CFB Petawawa. In a previous blog I mentioned how supporting the families of military supports our troops. While many Canadians don't agree with the mission in Afghanistan the reality is our troops are there and it's not easy for families to be separated from them. Today the military spouses woke up early, got on the bus and drove through heavy fog to be with us for a special morning of prizes, pampering, and firefigthers. Yes the new Ottawa Firefighters calendar is about to be launched and we got a preview of it this morning, and met some of the firefighters in that calendar. A nice treat for the ladies I must say! If you're looking for a night out with the gals log onto www.capitaltickets.ca to get tickets for the launch of the calendar next Wednesday night.
The weekend looks wet but what a great week we had! I wish this weather would stay around for Remembrance Day ceremonies on Tuesday. Right now the forecast looks much cooler but sunny. Whether you actually go to a ceremony or watch the national ceremony on 'A' on Tuesday, take the time to remember why we have the rights and freedom we do.
Have a great weekend - see you Monday morning.
Cheers,
Karen
