Tuesday Times

Hi everyone,

It's voting day in America.  Twenty-one months of campaigning comes to an end tonight and a new era will begin south of the border.  No matter what happens history will be made - either the first African-American president or first female vice-president.  Pundits say (and let's make this clear I'm no pundit), that a Democrat government could change relations with our country on a few things - NAFTA and Afghanistan.  I'll be watching the coverage tonight as late and as long as I can stay up!

We're looking forward to this Friday and our show dedicated to military spouses.  They're coming in from CFB Petawawa and we have some pampering, gifts, and surprises for them.  They're our link to our troops in Afghanistan and if we as Canadians show we care and support them - I'm sure it's appreciated.  We'll never know their range of emotions and how much they miss their spouses, but we can show we care.  And that's why we do it.  That's why it's also Military Appreciation night at Scotiabank Place - good on the Sens organization for doing this year after year.

Be sure to check out our website for the recipes from Contemporary Cuisine today.  Angie was there this morning and I'm definitely going to try the arctic char!

From snow last week to above seasonal temperatures this week - get out and enjoy these balmy temperatures.  Have a great Tuesday.

Cheers,
Karen
